Hong Kong’s second annual Delicious USA festival has begun, and this time it’s bigger and better, with a whopping 25 participating restaurants. From July 16–August 16, some of your favorite restaurants will be serving up special creations to highlight and celebrate the incredible diversity and quality of US ingredients. 1. Acquasala
Acquasala, the cozy Italian wine bar on the slopes of Elgin Street, presents an array of exciting eats made with premium US ingredients. Tuck into the 28-day dry-aged rib-eye ($280) featuring fine US beef and potatoes or enjoy pasta carbonara ($140) or an omelet ($88) made with American bacon and eggs. These dishes will go down a treat with Saffron Fields Chardonnay or Pinot Noir($690 or $950/bottle respectively) from Oregon.

2. Big Sur
Named after the rugged mountainous region of the central coast of California, Big Sur is SoHo’s proudly American beef and barbecue spot. To celebrate the Delicious USA festival, Big Sur will be offering diners fall-off-the-bone USDA Prime short ribs with US cream cheese ($300) as well as a special cocktail, Eve on the Rye ($95), made with Mitcher’s whiskey.

3. The Butchers Club
The burger specialists over at The Butchers Club are usually known for their dry-aged beef sourced from Down Under, but for this special occasion, they’re using US pork shoulder butt to create The Hogtown Burger ($160). Available at all Butchers Club Burger locations, the Hogtown goes best with good, old-fashioned American sweet potato fries ($33 or +$20 with The Hogtown). Looks like we’re all going to Hogtown this summer!

4. Flying Pig Bistro
A neighborhood favorite in Sai Ying Pun, Flying Pig Bistro joins Delicious USA for a second time around with two delicious choices. Meat lovers must try the hanger steak with fries ($288), made with American Wagyu, while those who prefer white meat will certainly enjoy the crispy chicken schnitzel ($188), made with US chicken breasts.

5. FoFo by el Willy
We’re big fans of the Spanish fare at FoFo by el Willy and are thrilled to see them back for Delicious USA round two. Chef Alex Fargas has created a variation on one of their existing dishes using American lobster. The American lobster in tempura with rice crackers ($225) is a dish that not only uses the finest of US seafood, but it also uses American flour and rice.

6. Franks
Foodie Forks 2019 Readers’ Choice Best New Restaurant winner Franks is another Delicious USA veteran and one of Hong Kong’s most beloved American-Italian restaurants. We can’t stop staring at these drool-worthy braised USDA short ribs ($249). A dish this decadent wouldn’t be complete without a bottle of Fetzer Cabernet Sauvignon ($379/bottle).

7. Gaylord
Foodie Forks 2019’s Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Gaylord, has been serving up authentic Indian delicacies to Hong Kong diners for over 50 years. Proving the diversity of US ingredients, Gaylord’s Malabar salmon curry ($188) uses Alaska salmon and California almonds for added crunch and flavor.

8. Gunpowder Indian RestoBar
Gaylord’s quirky sister Gunpowder also makes use of beautiful Alaska salmon with its salmon naan slider ($168). For this pretty pink dish, the Alaska salmon is served with dill mustard on American cream cheese naan and then topped with pink peppercorns.

9. ICHU Peru
Diners at ICHU Peru will be spoiled for choice with three gorgeous Peruvian-style dishes made with high- quality US ingredients. The salmon tiradito ($170) promises fresh summer flavors from the Alaska salmon and California almonds, while the XOXO chicken ($120) is a brand-new dish made with US chicken that’s crumbed with US flour. A variation on one of their most popular dishes, the bistec de Wagyu ($360) uses American Wagyu beef as well as US cream cheese.

10. Kelly’s Cape Bop
Named after Chef Una’s daughter, Kelly’s Cape Bop is a Korean snack shop known for its healthy and authentic Korean eats. Those looking for a low-carb, high-protein meal will love the chicken salad without rice kimbop ($80),which uses US chicken, dried cranberries and eggs. It’s a perfect keto-friendly treat.

11. La Paloma
FoFo by el Willy’s pared-back sibling La Paloma is a vibrant tapas spot in the heart of Sai Ying Pun. Chef Jaime Ortolá Fernandez offers up a new dish especially for Delicious USA: short rib molletes with fig jam ($188). These irresistible mini sandwiches are made with USDA Prime short rib and US dried figs.

12. Lobster Shack
For decadent dishes at decent prices, look no further than Lobster Shack. Indulge in the lobster mac and cheese ($218), made with American lobster and cream cheese, the potted crab ($148), which highlights Alaska snow crab, or simply go with a classic 250-gram lobster tail ($338).

13. Mr Brown
Smoky grill house Mr Brown has always celebrated a wide variety of cuisines with a menu of meaty delights from all over the world. This time, they’re adding a new addition to their three-course lunch menu ($148) with the pork and jalapeño sausage with caramelized cabbage pasta and pickled cucumber (+$48), featuring US pork shoulder butt and flour made with US wheat, which is sure to satisfy diners’ taste buds.

14. Namo Avant Thai
The third addition from Mayfare Concepts after Gaylord and Gunpowder, Namo Avant Thai takes on US ingredients for their modern Southeast Asian fare. The silken salmon ($238) presents pan-seared Alaska salmon in chili-lime US raisin pesto, while the chicken charm ($98/tapas; $138/main) fries up US chicken tenders, served with a US almond Penang-style dip.

15. NOSH
With healthy meal delivery service NOSH, you’ll be able to enjoy US ingredients in every meal and have these meals delivered right to your door. For breakfast, tuck into apple cranberry crumble overnight oats, which contains US Granny Smith apples and dried cranberries. For lunch and dinner, you’ll have the option of the Southwestern pulled pork with brown rice and mixed peppers, made with US pork butt and brown rice, the Texan beef chili with brown rice and mixed peppers, made with US ground beef and rice – or choose a veggie option with the Thai basil Impossible mince with brown rice and lettuce wrap or the Impossible veggie chili with brown rice and zucchini, both of which use American rice and plant-based Impossible protein. These dishes are available as part of NOSH’s meal plans from July 16 until the end of the month. Dishes will be featured across multiple plan types,ranging from $500 for a three-day veggie package to $6,300 for a month-long plan.
16. Popinjays
Popinjays, the stunning restaurant and rooftop bar atop The Murray, Hong Kong,presents the perfect, picturesque summer dish with their curry risotto with pan-seared scallops and lobster coco sauce. We can’t wait to dig into those succulent US scallops and curried US rice.

17. Prohibition Grill House & Cocktail Bar
If theme parks aren’t really your thing but premium US meat is, you’ll have to head over to Ocean Park for dinner at Prohibition. The American steakhouse is no stranger to high-quality US produce, so you can be assured that the grilled corned beef boneless short rib with fermented cabbage and corn purée, made with USDA short rib and US corn, will be cooked to perfection. Pair this dish with a glass (or bottle) of 2013 Thorn Merlot from The Prisoner Wine Company in Napa Valley.

18. Red Lobster
Hong Kong diners couldn’t contain their excitement when popular American seafood chain Red Lobster arrived in Causeway Bay late last year. As usual, they’ll be celebrating US seafood with Alaska king crab paired with American French fries. The king and snow crab combo with truffle fries ($398) obviously deserves an extra side of Red Lobster’s famous Cheddar biscuits.

19. ShakeUp!
There’s nothing better than a milkshake on a hot summer’s day. ShakeUp! spreads the milkshake love on Kowloon side with two locations, in TST and Mongkok. This summer, they’re topping their toffee apple milkshake ($53) with US apples and offering a savoury treat in the form of a meatball topped with US Cheddar ($38).

20. Silencio
Fusing Japanese flavors and American ingredients in a premium izakaya experience, Silencio welcomes diners to try two new dishes in celebration of Delicious USA. The scrumptious otaku ($188) showcases USDA Prime short rib, while the umami bomb of NT rice ($258) highlights US short-grain risotto rice.

21. Test Kitchen
This special addition to the Delicious USA family will only be available from July 24–25 at a dinner series at Test Kitchen. Foodie Forks 2020 Editors’ Choice Food Hero winner Vincent Mui presents a pop-up from Chef Peter Lee called Scenes from Childhood ($1,480 for 8-course menu + wine pairings) in which Chef Lee will take guests on a personal culinary journey. Chef Lee will use US short ribs and US butter in his dishes, with one of his standout dishes called Flintstones – bone-in short ribs with chu hou spicy sauce and braised daikon beef consommé.

22. Te Quiero Mucho
Sheung Wan’s vibrant Mexican eatery Te Quiero Mucho (TQM) is on board the Delicious USA train with two new heavenly dishes. The gorgeous scallop tiradito ($140) uses the freshest US scallops, while the carne grillada ($350) displays succulent cuts of Black Angus hanger steak.

23. The Peak Lookout
For comforting American-style eats with spectacular views, take the tram up to The Peak Lookout. A truly indulgent feast, the open-flame-grilled US double pork Tomahawk chop with US pecan crust ($448) is served with US sweet potato fries, grilled asparagus and a mushroom cream sauce, while the steamed whole American lobster with linguine, chive and American cream cheese sauce ($388) promises to be a rich and decadent treat.
