Aside from happiness, which is a primary plus of consuming the delicious tea, the benefits of drinking matcha tea regularly (1-2 cups per day) include:

Immune system

Matcha tea is crammed full of antioxidants and these antioxidants act as antibiotics to help keep one's immune system healthy and happy.  It also contains important vitamins such as vitamin A and C and it also contains potassium, iron and calcium which are all important for a healthy body.

Prevention of cancer

This tea is full of antioxidants, and they are really powerful antioxidants known as epigallocatechin gallates, which are known for their efficiency against cancers.  Matcha tea contains 100 times more of these authoritative antioxidants than other commercial teas.

Energy boost

Matcha tea is known for providing a substantial energy boost to it's consumer and it's partly because of its caffeine content but also due to the combination of the other nutrients present in this powerful beverage.

Calming effect

This wonder tea contains L-theanine, which is known to help de-stress and balance the body.  This is impressive considering that it also contains caffeine in it.

Helps with bad cholesterol

Not only does this super tea help to lower the LDL cholesterol (the bad kind) but it also helps increase the HDL cholesterol (the good kind).  This is an extremely important benefit because cholesterol is associated with many cardiovascular diseases.

Increases metabolism

Research from studies have shown that including matcha tea in one's diet increases their weight loss by 25% as compared to individuals who don't drink matcha tea.  There are no side effects from matcha tea either!

Memory and concentration

Due to matcha relaxing the body, this allows the mind to be more capable and clearer for cognitive activity.  It also increases the secretion of serotonin and dopamine which are both associated with helping depression and mood stabilisation.

Anti-aging

Due to the beneficial antioxidants, matcha helps protect against damaging UV rays as well as it helps with skin diseases.

Tips: When purchasing matcha tea, purchase the organic matcha if possible. Other forms of matcha can be produced using pesticides, herbicides and fertilisers, so it's best to go organic.  It can be purchased at most health food stores and online as well. Tempt those taste buds and hop on the matcha train!
