The 10th edition of The Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau has just been announced. Our hearty congratulations to all the restaurants who have been awarded, both those new to the stars and those who have succeeded in retaining them.

A total of 57 one-star restaurants made the list this year, with eight newly awarded a star. Long overdue to gain a star is Arcane, with enigmatic chef Shane Osborn at the helm, our last year’s winner of the Foodie Forks Food Hero award. Tate Dining Room & Bar was considered a new addition this year despite gaining a star at last year's awards because the restaurant had moved to a new location. The Pulse’s The Ocean made the list along with new restaurant Ying Jee Club helmed by Chef Siu Hin-chi, previously of T’ang Court and Duddell’s, which may account for Duddell’s loss of a star from two to one. Sixteen two-star restaurants made the list, with no new arrivals, and similarly eight three stars were awarded, with no new additions to either category, making for a relatively subdued year.
