The Place is spreading the holiday cheer with lavish Christmas buffets throughout December. Festive gourmet treats include roast turkey, beef Wellington, lobster bisque, fresh seafood and desserts such as Christmas pudding with brandy sauce, stollen and an irresistible baked gingerbread cheesecake.

Eaton HK, owned by Great Eagle, is a contemporary four-star hotel in Jordan that houses restaurants Yat Tung Heen, The Astor, wonderful bar Terrible Baby and the eclectic Eaton Food Hall.

All-day-dining venue The Astor is hosting a carnival-themed buffet from 1 December that will include turkey, ham, beef Wellington and whole roast suckling pig. A variety of seafood will also be served – grilled lobster with miso sauce, grilled tiger prawns, brown crab, oysters, Boston lobster and mussels – alongside a raclette station. Don’t miss the games trolley, where you will have the chance to win some great prizes too. You can visit throughout December, with slightly cheaper prices on normal days.

Four Seasons
Decadent festive celebrations are on offer at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, with stunning menus (and prices to match) at their two three-Michelin-starred institutions, Caprice and Lung King Heen. Peruse their menus here, and find a variety of Christmas hampers for sale at their eShop too.
STAYCAY: festive staycations for two are on offer at the Four Seasons from $5,980; they include a buffet dinner with unlimited non-alcoholic drinks and a somewhat random gift set of Dr Barbara Sturm’s hyaluronic serum.

On Christmas Eve, Caprice highlights from Chef de Cuisine Guillaume Galliot include Brittany scallop with Oscietra caviar, foie gras terrine, black truffle and artichoke. On Christmas Day, the menu includes line-caught turbot with mint butter and black truffle (pictured) or roast duck with tonka beans, salsify and vanilla sauce. Children over age 3 are welcome, and appropriate kids’ meals can be prepared à la carte.

Grand Hyatt
Drop by Grand Hyatt Hong Kong’s reimagined mezzanine floor, transformed into a Christmas wonderland featuring a festive post office and Santa’s grotto. The dinner buffet at Tiffin will include one lobster per person (served baked, grilled or bouillon-boiled) and a traditional buffet. You will find oysters and sustainable seafood on ice, cold cuts, a soup station (including lobster bisque), a carving station (including US prime rib) and various other stations that will be very difficult to get through. There are 10 different ice creams on offer – including a pink champagne peach sorbet! Very impressive.

Hotel ICON
Designed with style and eco-consciousness in mind, Hotel ICON was the venue for our 2018 Foods Future Summit. They have a number of festive menus at their fantastic dining venues; browse their offers here.
The five-star hotel also has some amazing offerings on its Christmas E-Shop. The Christmas Sweet Tower ($698) is an adorable Christmas tree decorated with edible confections, from macarons, to cookies, to chocolate-dipped marshmallows – big recommend!
STAYCAY: Hotel ICON currently has a Family Fun staycation package (and a special Double Fun Connecting Rooms offer, which is a bit special), as well as a Winter Foodie Getaway, which includes a Godiva-themed afternoon tea set for two.

On Christmas Eve, Michelin-starred Petrus will present a memorable gastronomic experience in the elegant dining room with panoramic views of the city. Chef Uwe Opocensky will deliver an eight-course set dinner menu with an array of seasonal creations. The meal begins with delicacies such as Norwegian king crab and Georges Bruck foie gras, followed by Atlantic sea bass with caviar and Brandt beef calotte.

On Christmas Day, cafe TOO presents its Christmas buffet. Ten cooking stations will be serving an array of festive favourites, including roast turkey and ham with all the trimmings. Dessert includes options such as traditional Christmas pudding, Yule log and profiteroles.

Lobster Bar and Grill
Lobster Bar and Grill is offering a three-course Christmas Day brunch as a free-flow affair, with Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs champagne, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy. For starters, guests can choose prawn cocktail, lobster bisque or a giant seafood platter. Main course options range from roast turkey, to a roast celeriac steak that sounds perfect for vegetarians, to a whole lobster, which can be steamed, grilled or served on a toasted brioche roll. Desserts include Yule log with custard, citrus pavlova and sticky toffee pudding with an Earl Grey twist.

The Langham
Elegant hotel The Langham, Hong Kong houses legendary three-Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant T’ang Court and steakhouse Bostonian Seafood & Grill. From 18–26 December, traditional carols and Christmas songs will be performed by a live choir in the lobby at 6pm, along with complimentary mulled wine served just after 7pm. T’ang Court
Luxuriate in style with Cantonese cuisine at T’ang Court, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant for the sixth consecutive year. Chinese Master Chef Kwong Wai Keung and T’ang Court Executive Chef Wong Chi Fai are cooking up a winter banquet featuring baked stuffed crab shell with crabmeat and onion and braised South Africa abalone with bêche-de-mer in a seven-course festive dinner.

The Christmas buffets at Café East present over 100 delicacies, including seafood on ice (like Boston lobster, crab, prawns and mussels), as well as the standard must-indulge Christmas dishes. Other items include foie gras mousse, grilled Hokkaido scallops with ikura, baby-back ribs and various teppanyaki options. There are a number of hot Chinese dishes, notably chicken soup with abalone, sea maw and ginseng and braised abalone with duck feet! Of course, Santa will make an appearance – he wouldn’t miss this.

On Christmas Eve (and New Year’s Eve), La Table French Brasserie is serving up festive feasts, along with a glass of Laurent-Perrier Brut NV champagne. The five-course Christmas Eve set dinner features hamachi ceviche with caviar, champagne jelly and green apple, butternut squash soup with lobster ravioli, grilled Australian M5 Wagyu striploin with parsnip purée and Périgueux sauce and a traditional Christmas pudding with a modern twist as the finale to the meal.

On Christmas Eve, there are oysters and champagne to start, and both the 24th and 25th menus feature items like Wagyu beef tartare and Japanese devilled eggs with uni, trout roe and pork crackling. Consider getting away from the Big Smoke at Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel, which opened at the top of T-Bay in Tung Chung in December last year. Surrounded by mountains, you can almost imagine you really got away...

We couldn’t help but notice the Christmas Day brunch at rooftop Sunset Grill. Begin with a seafood sharing platter and starters to share, then choose a main from the selection of charcoal-grilled Australian bone-in rib-eye for two, New Zealand lamb rack with shakshuka, porcini and wild mushroom risotto and pan-fried sea bass. Great options at the dessert bar and an optional two-hour Veuve Clicquot free-flow add-on will complete your jolly day.

All-day-dining restaurant SkyCity Bistro is serving both international specialities and traditional Christmas fare. Get started with sashimi and seafood on ice, including Hokkaido scallops, Boston lobster, New Zealand oysters, blue mussels, jade whelks and chilled prawns. Then cosy up with a bowl of seafood chowder, lobster bisque or double-boiled soup with ginseng and chicken.
