Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate gratitude and the bounty of the harvest. Whilst we don’t get to harvest much here in Hong Kong, we can still find things to be grateful for. This year, Thanksgiving is on Thursday, 25 November, and we’ve rounded up the various catering options around to make it easier for you to host a feast at home, with dinner delivered.

Big D’s (formerly CRFT PIT)
Artisanal smokehouse CRFT PIT is rebranding as Big D’s (Big Dynasty) and will focus on a catering menu featuring tempting items smoked with fusion flavours Tex-Mex style, such as yuzu-miso smoked halibut. For now, you can order their classic Thanksgiving set for six ($2,688), which includes both an 8kg wood-fired smoked turkey (roasted low and slow for six hours) and a smoked honey-glazed ham, plus a selection of sides and a pumpkin meringue pie. Their new website will be ready soon, but in the meantime, ask them for their full menu.

Big Dill
It's worth considering this non-traditional, 100% plant-based and 100% delicious Thanksgiving offer by Big Dill. Get 'The Feast' for nine people, with 9 mains, sides and desserts for $1300 with an additional delivery charge depending on location. The Big Dill crowd favourites are the signature Big Dill burger, the Zeus Gyro and the KFP chicken-style tenders served with sriracha mayo. All of the plant-based proteins and sauces are made in house, and we give thanks for that!

Black Sheep Restaurants
The chefs at Black Sheep Restaurants are offering Thanksgiving Delivered this year, which, interestingly, is portioned and priced per person ($598), with a minimum of four people. On the menu is roasted turkey breast and confit dark meat with gravy and sauces, traditional sides done a little differently – like fontina and provolone mac ‘n’ cheese and mashed potato with mascarpone and brown butter – and banana cream or pumpkin pie from Butter. Keep an eye on their other “All We Want for the Holidays” catering specials here. Pick up or pay extra for delivery.

Dang Wen Li By Dominique Ansel
Dang Wen Li has introduced a trio of limited-edition pies just in time for the festive season. First up, the salted caramel apple pie ($288) is made with slices of Granny Smith apple stewed in subtle spices to tender perfection, finished with a swig of bourbon and dollops of salted caramel. The caramelised pecan pie ($258) is packed full of crunchy pecans glazed in maple syrup and whisky, and our favourite, the pumpkin pie ($238), is possibly the most delicate, refined version we’ve tasted of this much-loved autumnal dessert. The lightly sweet filling is incredibly silky, with just a hint of warm spice, and the pie is adorned with a fall “foliage” of buttery pastry. The apple and pecan pies are available until the beginning of January, whilst the pumpkin pie is only available until the end of November, so you better snap one up for your dessert table now!
Graham St Food Hall
Graham St Food Hall has announced a Thanksgiving catering set for 4–6 people ($3,288). It includes a huge 8kg smoked turkey with traditional sides, including the delicious-sounding roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon from Smoke & Barrels, garlic breadsticks from Motown Pizza and pumpkin cheesecake from La Viña.

Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong
Always going the extra mile at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, the birds in this feast are free-range turkeys from Farmgate Hatcheries in Essex, England, which are reared and slow-grown by third-generation British heritage farmer Paul Kelly exclusively for the five-star hotel. Each set comes with all the usual trimmings done with typical Mandarin Oriental style, as either a 7kg ($2,998) or 10kg ($3,688) turkey packaged in the famous “Top Hat” box. They can be picked up at The Mandarin Cake Shop or delivered for an additional charge. Order until 19 November and get a 10% discount if you order before 6 November!

Concierge service Alfred’s brings us a choice of Thanksgiving catering sets by NYC-style deli Morty’s, and we like the look of the 7kg turkey feast ($2,780), which includes all the trimmings and a choice of tart. You can choose to order the turkey without sides ($1,980) or perhaps you prefer a Prime rib-eye ($3,880) or honey-glazed ham ($1,880) set. The choice is yours!
Porterhouse Seafood & Steak
If a 6kg slow-roasted organic turkey with sides including French beans and roasted vegetables ($1,980 pre-order/$2,200 regular) appeals, pre-order now from Porterhouse Seafood & Steak for a discount. This set has limited quantities, but it’s also available dine-in at the Lan Kwai Fong restaurant. Pre-order for delivery is required at least five days in advance.
