Sugar rush! This family-friendly event at new Nordic café Hjem is set to feature a lavish Nordic candy buffet ($250/adult or $150/child) – think Daim chocolate, Swedish Fish, liquorice, Bilar and more. Two-hour free-flow is included in this very sweet deal, offering wine for grown-ups and non-alcoholic bevvies for the little ones. Also available from 24 October–1 November is this Halloween-themed The Lingonbloody cocktail ($98), made with aquavit, lingonberry, citrus and Malbec.

Island Shangri-La’s Spook-tacular Family Staycation (22–24 & 29–31 October)![]()
With Halloween falling on a weekend this year, it’s the perfect time for some family bonding, and one recommended option is Island Shangri–La’s Spook-tacular Family Staycation package (from $2,600/night). The staycation offer includes daily breakfast for two adults and one child, Halloween-themed amenities, access to the pumpkin-carving session at the hotel’s pumpkin patch, a fun trick-or-treat experience (5–6pm on the 30th, with candy bag, costume and props all provided), as well as a 24-hour stay from the time of check-in.

Roji’s Netflix-themed Halloween party (30 October, from 9:30pm)![]()
We can foresee plenty of Squid Games masks and tracksuits at Roji’s “Netflix and Thrill” Halloween party... The best costume based on a Netflix series wins a whopping $3K credit to be used at the modern izakaya. Tickets are $498 online or $598 at the door and include free-flow drinks, special Halloween cocktails and hourly sake drum shots. You’ll probably get hungry at some point, so you can also order up a spread of Roji’s most popular dishes, from a seafood box loaded with ikura and snow crab, to chicken karaage, to Japanese A4 Wagyu. Franks’ Frankentiki event (30 October, from 7pm)![]()
Italian-American bar and restaurant Franks is going freaky tiki for Halloween! Transforming into a tropical lounge for one night only, a complimentary tiki cocktail is on the cards for all guests, and if you’re hungry for more, Franks is also putting on a tiki snack menu featuring the likes of sweet-and-sour pork meatballs ($100) and coconut shrimp scampi ($115). Early-bird online tickets ($350) can be purchased until 29 October, while tickets at the door ($450) will be available on a first come, first served basis. AAA members can join the party for free but need to RSVP first. The tunes courtesy of DJ John L range from Hawaiian and hip-hop to horror and thriller, and look out for surprise Franks souvenirs on the night too.

1966 Baking Alliance’s Halloween-inspired treats (October)![]()
We’re fans of Chinese bakery 1966 Baking Alliance at newly opened Central Market, an innovative modern offshoot of 55-year-old Maria’s Bakery. This Halloween, they’re baking up some adorably scary sweet treats. 1966’s monster-themed matcha and red bean, blueberry, Bananarama and Berrylicious M.A.D. ($25/1 or $120/6), or muffin-doughnut hybrids, are the headliners of the Halloween collection. We also rate the cinnamon-apple tart (available in assorted sets – $72/6, $135/12 or $248/24), with the pastry topping fashioned to look like a mummy, and the black-and-orange Swiss roll ($22/slice or $58/roll) made with pumpkin and charcoal. Perfect for kids’ Halloween parties!

The Mira Hong Kong’s Spooky but Sweet Halloween Staycation (29–31 October)![]()
Another family-friendly Halloween staycation, this time at The Mira Hong Kong, the Spooky but Sweet Halloween Staycation package ($1,150/night) features all the usual superb staycation goodies at this luxury hotel – buffet breakfast for two, access to the wellness facilities at MiraSpa, a whole floor of exciting activities – but the star of the show is the Halloween-themed afternoon tea at the 15th-floor Club Lounge. Aqua Spirit’s Underwater Horrors Party (30 October, from 9pm)![]()
You can knock back this Dark Tide cocktail – a mix of Tanqueray gin, activated charcoal, homemade peach liqueur and lemon, topped with shredded white chocolate – at sky-high bar Aqua Spirit’s annual Halloween party, this year themed around horrific creatures from the abyss. Professional make-up artists will be on hand for your own nightmarish deep-sea transformations. Free-flow tickets ($488) entitle you to three hours of free-flow Veuve Clicquot champagne and a choice of house spirits or you can just book entry tickets ($200), inclusive of one Dark Tide or Pirate’s Blood cocktail (this one is made with Captain Morgan spiced rum, triple sec, gunpowder tea syrup, white cacao, lemon and clarified pineapple juice, along with a syringe filled with raspberry purée). Harry’s Kitchen’s Heebie-Jeebies at Harry’s Baking Studio Halloween classes (October)![]()
This one by Harry’s Kitchen is definitely more treat than trick, with Heebie-Jeebies at Harry’s Baking Studio offering Halloween confectionery classes for whipping up spooky cookies, cake pops and cakes, all led by five-star hotel confectioners and pastry chefs. There are five different classes up for booking: spider-inspired chocolate-chip cookies known as the Cookie Hijacker ($580 for 75 minutes); Eye-am-looking ($580 for 75 minutes), cake pops crafted to look like bloody eyeballs; Mischievous Spooks ($680 for 90 minutes), pictured above, a sponge cake topped with “ghosts” of piped buttercream frosting in three flavour options – vanilla, chocolate and green tea – and three choices of filling, including strawberry, blueberry and chocolate; members-only Ghost-on-a-stick ($780 for 90 minutes), six different ghost-themed butter cake pops in white and dark chocolate, and – last but definitely not least – Mr Harry’s Malicious Mansion ($980 for 210 minutes), pictured at top, a ghoulish mansion made of cookies, crafted in gingerbread house style.

Well, we do like our steaks cooked blue... Steak King is once again hosting their Gangs of New York-themed Halloween bash known as Steak Rebellion ($1,250/person). Put your pooch in fancy dress for the return of Stazione Novella’s popular Halloween event, with the best-dressed dog winning a special surprise. Aqua Luna’s Haunted Halloween Cruise (30 & 31 October, 5:30–8:30pm)![]()
Another water-themed Halloween event by the Aqua family, this night-time Victoria Harbour cruise aboard red-sailed junk Aqua Luna is a one-hour spooky adventure at sea. Tickets are priced at $400 per adult or $300 per child and include a complimentary colourful Hocus Pocus cocktail (gin, blue curaçao, lemon juice, soda water) or Monster Mash mocktail (orange juice, lemon juice, honey and tonic water, garnished with black sesame seeds). Channel your inner Arnold Schwarzenegger or Sharon Stone at feel-good Canadian dive bar The Last Resort’s Halloween party. This throwback event inspired by the late 80s/early 90s is all about the drinks, with Bloody Caesars and Moosehead Lager on special and gory Brain Hemorrhage shots aplenty (guests who dress up will receive a complimentary shot). Don’t leave without ordering their signature fried chicken, which we think is just about the best in town.

Hyatt Centric’s Halloween Ghost Bus Staycation (31 October–1 November)![]()
Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong has linked up with City Tours to offer this completely immersive All Hallows Eve experience. The highlight is your tour on the open-top Ghost Bus from 8–10:30pm on the 31st, where you’ll be kept freaked out all night long with HK haunted tales and urban legends (you can even hop off the bus at the various spooky stops). This Halloween Ghost Bus Staycation ($1,999 for 1 night) also includes a pre-bus dinner buffet for two at The Farmhouse, guaranteed pool access for one session and late checkout at 3pm on 1 November.
Another Halloween option at Hyatt Centric is the hotel’s 444 Party or Die ($444/person) at rooftop bar and restaurant Cruise on Saturday the 30th from 9pm. Costumes are a must at this shindig, with various prizes in store for the best fancy dress.
