Are you ready for the most important food event of the year?

We’ve been keeping you up to date on the pressing issues, hot trends and some of the fascinating future-centric topics we’ll be exploring at the Food’s Future Summit 2019, and it’s sure to be an unprecedented event in terms of our diverse line-up of speakers. But what about the actual, physical food? Don’t worry, eternally hungry foodies, we’ve got you covered; we’ve partnered with some delicious and nutritious companies to keep you satisfied.

But first... coffee

Redback Coffee + The Nest

Redback Coffee Hong Kong

We know that, for many, the day does not begin until that first cup of coffee has been sipped. That’s why we’ve partnered with a true coffee expert to make sure you get the morning (and mid-morning and afternoon) pick-me-up you deserve! Redback Coffee has made it its mission to personalise and perfect the art of coffee making. Even if you don’t know the name, you’ll certainly know Redback’s coffee. It has supplied some of HK’s most popular cafés such as Blend & Grind and Fineprint (Foodie Forks 2019 Editors’ Choice Best Café winner), so you’re certainly in good hands!

Redback is teaming up with our friends over at The Nest to ensure excellent and friendly service. Founded by not-for-profit organisation The Nesbitt Centre, The Nest is an inspiring initiative that aims to create employment opportunities for individuals with special needs. The baristas are very experienced, working at two locations of The Nest as well as at lovely Café 8. We firmly believe that inclusivity is necessary for us to work towards a more sustainable food’s future – and the future in general.

Minor Figures oat milk

Minor Figures oat milk

Redback Coffee uses Minor Figures oat milk as a tasty dairy alternative. Made in the UK, Minor Figures specifically creates its oat milk with baristas in mind, ensuring that beautiful frothy finish we all love. You can rest assured that’s there no dairy or added sugar in this milk substitute, and it’s 100% vegan friendly.

Breakfast

Schragels

Schragels Hong Kong

Is there anything better than a fresh, New York–style bagel for breakfast? It’s a brekkie treat that’s hard to beat, and there are few who make a bagel better than Schragels. Freshly baked with the finest toppings – including homemade cream cheese – these bagels are a seriously scrumptious way to start the day. Vegan options will also be available.

Morning break

SpiceBox Organics

To recharge your energy after a busy morning full of engaging panel discussions, SpiceBox Organics has some superfoods up its sleeves. Spicebox Organics is a boutique store that specialises in sourcing and distributing high-quality, organic and environmentally friendly foods and food-related products. You’ll get to try SpiceBox Organics’ ladoos – gluten-free energy balls packed with flavour. Wash them down with a special moringa drink. Moringa is a superfood known for its anti-inflammatory, mood-stabilising, anti-ageing and metabolism-balancing effects. You’ll be feeling like a million bucks after this break!

Lunch

SaladStop!

SaladStop! Hong Kong

SaladStop! only uses the freshest ingredients to create delicious salads, wraps and more to fit everyone’s dietary needs. It’s also environmentally conscious and always positions its products and services in the most sustainable and ethical ways possible. At the Summit, SaladStop! will be serving up three of its signature wraps loaded with healthy and flavourful veggies and protein.

Afternoon break

Green Monday/Green Common

Green Common Hong Kong

Green Monday is well known in Hong Kong – and now all over the world – for being a plant-based champion. It’s successfully launched popular meat-free products such as the Beyond Burger and Omnipork, not to mention partnering with some big restaurant names (such as cha chaan teng giant Tsui Wah) to bring plant-based proteins to a completely new audience. Green Monday’s shop Green Common is constantly bringing in new dishes and creations using alternative proteins. Its most recent success story is Alpha Nuggets – 100%-plant-based nuggs. You’ll also be some of the first in Asia to try the Beyond Meat sausage patty. Ethically sourced McMuffin, anyone?

Stay tuned for what we’ll be eating on Day 2 of the Summit!
