I have heard of this popular dessert shop for some time, but never have enough incentive to brave the long line for their famous green tea (matcha) dessert. Don't get me wrong, I like green tea ice cream, but it's the time/worth conundrum. Then one lazy Sunday afternoon while strolling the neighbourhood (Causeway Bay), I decided to give this place a try. The dessert is good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. But honestly, the hype and anticipation has unreasonably raised the bar to a level that is almost impossible to match.
I ordered the matcha/milk twist soft-serve ice cream, garnished with red bean compote and chewy glutinous pieces. The dessert came with a small serving of honey, which you can add in. The ice cream is not very sweet, which may explain its popularity among Asians. One taste of the matcha ice cream, the strong and fragrant green tea flavour is imminently obvious. The soft-serve ice cream has a very smooth and silky texture. The red bean compote is sweet, but not overpowering. The chewy pieces taste fresh and also not very sweet (actually I don't think they have flavour at all.) When you put all of these flavours together, it is surprisingly good. But your mouth can get a little confused when you mix soft and melty, and chewy together - the bubble tea dilemma, kinda. 
Seating inside is comfortable, and the restaurant is bright and inviting. But it is not really a place to "hang out" (I guess they don't want you to either). The menu offers plenty of toppings and combinations for a good range to select from. My order was $47 HKD, which is not particularly cheap for soft-serve ice cream. But with it's location in Causeway Bay and the shop's use of Hokkaido milk, it is expected.
I now understand why this is a Hong Kong and tourists favourite. To-go option is available if you want a fixing of matcha soft-serve ice cream but don't want to wait a long time.
