Over the years, WWF have become aware, via suppliers they work with on a day-to-day basis, that sales of sustainable seafood have gone up significantly. Which is great news! However, they are lacking in data on consumers’ awareness and support. Therefore, they are conducting a simple online 9-question survey in the pursuit of gleaning a better understanding on the matter. The information provided is unequivocally helpful to improve their programme, which intends to translate into a larger conservation impact for our marine resources and habitat. Something that all Hong Kong dwellers can agree is of utmost importance.

The idea of sustainable seafood is becoming more popular all over the world. Here at home, WWF-Hong Kong has been promoting the concept to seafood suppliers across the city. They presently have some great news: two of Hong Kong’s major seafood suppliers recently reviewed their records and found that sales of sustainable seafood increased by an average of 100% between 2010 to 2013 – equivalent to an increase of 1,200 tonnes! This is incredibly significant and a sign of the movements forward that being made in that industry.
