With restrictions finally being lifted after more than two years, the Halloween festivities in 2022 are bigger and better than ever. We’ve been on the lookout for where to find the most delicious happenings this spooky season, and here’s what we’ve come up with:

BACI Trattoria & Bar![]()
Once again, Lan Kwai Fong is the place to be come Halloween. At BACI, there’s a glow-in-the-dark semi-buffet dinner on the cards. This trattoria was recently ranked one of the top two HK pizzerias and number 12 in the entire Asia-Pacific region by 50 Top Pizza Italy 2022. As one of the main options, you can select the autumnal-sounding pizza zuccona, topped with pumpkin cream, goat cheese, pumpkin chips, roasted pumpkin seeds and crispy pancetta (other main choices include duck rigatoni, veal Milanese, lobster orzotto and more). To start, there’s a selection of all-you-can-eat Italian delicacies, including cold cuts, bread and cheese stations and seafood, and for dessert, a decadent dessert bar is yours for the tasting.

The Experiment is Candour’s hip-hop-themed Halloween party, with each ticket granting access to the bar’s “lab” to partake in “boozer-ter” shots – crimson syringe shots made with jalapeño-infused tequila, honey-beetroot syrup and lime. Three Halloween cocktails will be on board too – Pink Venom, Purple Haze and Toxic – and DJ Crystal So will be on the decks to celebrate in true Candour hip-hop style.

If it’s afternoon tea you’re looking for this Halloween, Hjem’s got you covered with its Nordic-inspired Spooky Tea Set, available all day long on Halloween weekend. Two special cakes of the day complete the set: Cookie Monster (buckwheat chocolate cookie) and a lingonberry cupcake. Crafted seasonal drinks – pumpkin spiced latte and an “eyeball” cocktail dubbed Blinding Lights – accompany all the usual sweet and savoury treats of signature smørrebrød of Artic prawn and slow-roasted pork belly, mini cinnamon buns and traditional Norwegian waffles with seasonal berry posset.

We’re always fans of the gut-busting brunch at Hutong, and this Halloween, kids under 12 eat for free! The Halloween Feng Wei Brunch showcases a feast of Halloween-inspired northern Chinese sharing dishes, from cold appetisers and dim sum to main courses, noodles and dessert. Kids will be kept occupied with mask painting and pumpkin carving while parents knock back the (optional) free-flow bubbly. The restaurant space perfectly lends itself to spooky family photos.

Island Shangri-La
The top floor of Island Shangri-La has been transformed into Mr Hallow’s Pumpkin Ranch, an interactive, family-friendly Halloween experience. Expect storytelling and games (we love the sound of Mr Hallow’s Hay Ride), a pumpkin-carving station and themed snacks and bevvies. Kyoto Joe![]()
There’s magic afoot with Kyoto Joe’s Witchy Magic dinner. Highlights of the six-course contemporary Japanese menu, which is set to be complemented by a tableside magic performance, include crabmeat salad with mizuna and wafu dressing, beef tataki with ponzu sauce, a selection of top-grade sashimi and sushi, corn and shrimp tempura, silver cod grilled with miso, baked lobster with truffle essence and A4 Wagyu sirloin. To match the meal, the Kyoto Joe team have come up with a special cocktail, Kiyomizu, made with sake, lychee liqueur and cucumber syrup. Another cocktail, Indigenous – a refreshing concoction of tequila, hibiscus and orange juice – is also available for dine-in and takeaway (and this one’s served in a hospital-style blood bag to really freak out passersby).

MO Bar![]()
There are two options this Halloween at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental’s MO Bar. Come for the Halloween Brunch in the daytime, a seasonal free-flow feast that includes a selection of sharing appetisers, choice of main course, side dish and dessert platter – plus free-flow champagne, Halloween-inspired cocktails and more (all to the tune of horror DJ beats). As the sun sets on the 29th, the space will host a free-flow party featuring bottomless bubbly, funky cocktails and themed Halloween bar bites.

Potato Head Hong Kong![]()
Two of Potato Head’s awesome spaces are offering blood-curdling events this All Hallows’ Eve. On the 27th, the Music Room will transform into a spooky theatre for Horror Movie Night, screening the iconic 2010 horror film Insidious paired with plenty of popcorn and champagne. Two nights later, it’s Eksotika Bar’s turn with the Dark Disco Halloween party showcasing synth pop horror-inspired music sessions by Italian DJs Neeno and Guido Balboa, haunted cocktails and bubbles. If you dine at Potato Head’s Indonesian restaurant Kaum between 5–7pm that evening and show your party ticket, you’ll get 20% off all à-la-carte food items.

Relish’s rooftop event space plays host to BOO! Night on the 28th, a fancy dress party with free-flow food and drink (think American-style beef and Impossible sliders, chips with guac and salsa, popcorn and hot dogs + house wine, beer and spirits). The theme for the party is “scary movies”, with a big prize for the best-dressed guest. An after-party continues the Halloween fun.

Te Quiero Mucho![]()
Corresponding with Halloween season, the Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) is a colourful, lively Mexican holiday where families honour their deceased ancestors – a celebration of both life and death. Beginning on the 31st, Te Quiero Mucho is paying tribute to its Mexican roots with a week-long fiesta to mark the occasion, with brunch and all-you-can-eat tacos on the menu. In addition, the traditional Day of the Dead pairing of pan de muerto (a sweet, sugar-topped bun crisscrossed with “bones”) with Oaxaca-style hot chocolate can be savoured.
