Sure, we all love ourselves a good ol’ chocolate advent calendar at Christmastime, but for something a bit different from Cadbury or Lindt, here are our suggestions for the top foodie advent calendars that stand out from the choccy pack this year:

Cupping Room

This home-grown coffee roastery has come up with a Specialty Coffee Advent Calendar dedicated to all the caffeine fiends out there. It includes the likes of Cupping Room’s award-winning Champ Series, signature single-origin coffee beans, drip bags, artisanal teas and brewing equipment. The beans will be freshly roasted from 21–25 November, with shipping soon after.

Fortnum & Mason

A one-stop shop for holiday gifting, Fortnum & Mason has several worthy advent calendar options this season, but our pick goes to the Tea Lovers Advent Calendar. Paper & Tea

Another lovely tea-based advent calendar comes to us from Paper & Tea, a Germany-based purveyor of rare and speciality teas. This one has two versions; for those who prefer loose-leaf tea, there’s Origins, while Master Blends offers special Christmas village-themed cotton tea bags packaged in recyclable foil. No matter which version is chosen, each window opens to reveal one of P&T’s artisanal teas, from their most popular blends to exclusive holiday editions.
