The Marco Polo German Bierfest has yet to make a return to Hong Kong since 2018 (first it was the protests, then it was the pandemic), but there are still plenty of fun Oktoberfest events on this year that involve lots of good eating and drinking, German style. These include two brand-new beer festivals that are being organised on a pretty grand scale.

Here are our top picks for celebrating Oktoberfest in the 852 (while imagining you’ve been transported to a beer tent in Bavaria) – Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit!

BaseHall

BaseHall, our favourite food hall in the 852, is hosting two Oktoberfest events this year for all us busy Hong Kongers, transforming into a traditional Bavarian beer tent with beer, German-inspired dishes and classic Oktoberfest games – including the iconic stein-holding competition.
